After the arrest of Sri Chinmay Krishna Das Prabhu on alleged sedition charges and the violence on the premises of the Chattragram Metropolitan Court, dangers have mounted on the lives of ISKCON devotees in Bangladesh. Islamists have been rallying in different parts of Bangladesh, with an open call to slaughter ISKCON devotees.
On the evening of 26th of November, hundreds of Islamists held a rally in the Rangunia Upazila-Sub-district) of the Chattragram district. The Islamists raised slogans like, 'ISKCON is aterrorist organisation', 'ban ISKCON', 'catch the ISKCON one by one, slaughter them one by one'.
Soon after their rally, the Police and the Bangladesh launched a joint operation in areas of the Chattragram town and arrested 27 persons. Among those arrested persons, many are ISKCON devotees.
Besides, the Islamists have become super active on social media platforms like Facebook and X. Anyone can see thousands of posts targeting ISKCON with vicious calls to slaughter and murder ISKCON devotees.
According to the sources in Bangladesh, a radical organisation named 'Hefazat-e-Islam' is spreading hatred in villages by organising rallies and distributing leaflets. Leaflets have been distributed in the parts of the Sylhet and the Maulavibazar districts against ISKCON devotees.
As of now, ISKCON devotees of Bangladesh are living in fear.
